Fairlington Youth

Fairlington’s Youth Ministry provides opportunities for middle and high school students to have fun, grow in their faith, serve their community, and be empowered to lead.

Youth at Fairlington have a variety of ways to get involved. We have Sunday morning small groups, host regular fellowship activities, take part in service projects, serve in Teens Opposing Poverty, lead worship annually, and each summer we serve with the Jeremiah Project.

At Fairlington, your youth will be loved and affirmed for who they are and will be met by God who knows them by name and wants a closer relationship with them. Our leaders will extend that same promise. Fairlington Youth always welcomes visitors, guests, and friends!

Fairlington Youth Mission

The mission of Fairlington Youth is to create a safe and empowering community for our youth to grow in their relationships with God and one another, using our time together to increase their faith, confirm their hope, and perfect them in love. Our programs are designed around three key principles that lead to deep faith formation in teens- our programs are Conversational, Relational, and Experiential Our youth program is for 6th through 12th graders who are interested in nurturing their faith in a fun, relaxed, and positive environment.  We offer a variety of programs at various times throughout the year to support this mission, creating opportunities for connection, fun, and discipleship.

Faith, Formation, and Fun

Our program for teenagers offer a variety of events at various times throughout the year to support our mission, creating opportunities for connection, fun, and discipleship. Plus, we almost always have food, music, and games whatever it is we are doing. Led by a group of committed volunteers, trained in nurturing the spiritual lives of teenagers, all youth will find a place of belonging in our program. For more information, email Rev. Christian White, at christian@fairlingtonumc.org.

Empower the youth, and you empower the world.

Sunday Morning Small Group

Youth meet from 9:30-10:30 AM throughout the year for small groups. Middle schoolers are introduced to biblical and theological concepts in an active, fast paced, welcoming environment. High Schoolers will experience a relevant, discussion-based learning experience in their classroom.

Adult Volunteers

All programs for children and youth at Fairlington are led by trained, loving adults dedicated to sharing their faith with our children. These adults also agree to uphold our Child Protection Policy. Our Child Protection Policy is a comprehensive document outlining the directives in place for protecting our children. All volunteers are required to have a full Background Check completed by a third party. Fairlington UMC is also a participant in the Safe Sanctuaries program, the official child safety program of the United Methodist Church.
