    12/28/2018 UPDATE ON THE APPOINTMENT PROCESS FOR A NEW PASTOR

    In December, the District Superintendent, Rev. Jeff Mickle, met with the Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) to begin the appointment process of our new lead pastor. We expect to have a projected announcement in February, though appointments are not officially set until June when the Bishop "fixes" all appointments at annual conference. The new pastor would start the last Sunday in June.

    In the United Methodist Church, it is the bishop's job to send pastors and the congregation's responsibility to receive. The church has a system of itinerancy whereby all pastors are appointed to 1 year terms. The SPRC does not interview potential pastors, our role is consultative only. 

    We know God is with us in this process and this time of transition. We ask you to pray for our leaders. As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions about the process to Ashley Moore, amacwilson@gmail.com
